Execution

How to Execute Resistance Band Tricep Extensions

Setup

  • Secure a resistance band to a sturdy anchor point above head height. This could be a door anchor, a pull-up bar, or any other stable structure.
  • Stand facing away from the anchor point, holding the ends of the resistance band in each hand.
  • Position your feet shoulder-width apart for stability.
  • Extend your arms straight overhead, keeping your elbows close to your ears.

Execution

  1. Start with your elbows bent at a 90-degree angle, with your hands behind your head.
  2. Engage your core to maintain a stable posture.
  3. Extend your arms fully by straightening your elbows, pushing your hands forward and upward until your arms are fully extended.
  4. Pause briefly at the top of the movement, ensuring your triceps are fully contracted.
  5. Slowly return to the starting position by bending your elbows, controlling the resistance band as you lower your hands back behind your head.

Finishing

  • Complete the desired number of repetitions.
  • Carefully release the resistance band and return it to a safe position.
  • Perform any necessary stretches or cool-down exercises for your triceps and shoulders.
