Introduction

Incline Reverse Flyes are a highly effective exercise targeting the posterior deltoids, upper back, and rhomboids, making them an essential addition to any hypertrophy-focused workout regimen. By performing this movement on an incline bench, you can isolate these muscle groups more effectively, reducing the involvement of the lower back and minimizing the risk of injury. This exercise not only enhances muscle definition and strength in the upper back and shoulders but also contributes to improved posture and overall upper body stability. Incorporating Incline Reverse Flyes into your routine can help create a balanced physique and support the development of a well-rounded, muscular upper body.

Execution

How to Execute Incline Reverse Flyes

Setup

  1. Adjust an incline bench to a 30-45 degree angle.
  2. Grab a pair of dumbbells with a neutral grip (palms facing each other).
  3. Lie face down on the bench, ensuring your chest is supported and your feet are firmly planted on the ground for stability.
  4. Allow your arms to hang down naturally, with a slight bend in your elbows.

Execution

  1. Engage your core and keep your back flat throughout the movement.
  2. Exhale as you lift the dumbbells out to the sides in a wide arc, keeping your elbows slightly bent.
  3. Focus on squeezing your shoulder blades together at the top of the movement.
  4. Pause briefly at the top, ensuring you feel the contraction in your rear deltoids and upper back.
  5. Inhale as you slowly lower the dumbbells back to the starting position, maintaining control throughout the descent.

Finishing

  1. Complete the desired number of repetitions.
  2. Carefully place the dumbbells on the ground or a rack.
  3. Stand up slowly to avoid dizziness or strain on your lower back.
