Introduction
The Standing Easy Bar Biceps Curl is a fundamental exercise designed to target the biceps brachii, the prominent muscle on the front of the upper arm. Utilizing an EZ bar, which features a unique, angled grip, this exercise reduces strain on the wrists and forearms compared to a traditional straight barbell curl, making it a popular choice for both novice and experienced lifters. By performing this exercise in a standing position, it engages not only the biceps but also the stabilizing muscles of the core and lower body, promoting overall muscular balance and coordination. The Standing Easy Bar Biceps Curl is an effective movement for those aiming to enhance arm strength, size, and definition, and it can be easily incorporated into a variety of training programs focused on hypertrophy.Execution
How to Perform Standing Easy Bar Biceps Curl
Setup
- Stand upright with your feet shoulder-width apart.
- Grasp the Easy Bar with an underhand grip (palms facing up), hands placed at a comfortable width apart.
- Keep your elbows close to your torso and your back straight.
- Engage your core to maintain stability throughout the exercise.
Execution
- Begin by curling the Easy Bar upwards while keeping your upper arms stationary. Only your forearms should move.

- Slowly lower the bar back to the starting position, fully extending your arms.
- Repeat for the desired number of repetitions.
Finishing
- After completing your set, carefully lower the Easy Bar to the ground or a rack.
- Take a moment to stretch your biceps and forearms to aid in recovery.
