How to Perform Toe Touches

Setup

  1. Lie down on your back on a comfortable, flat surface such as a yoga mat.
  2. Extend your legs straight up towards the ceiling, keeping them as straight as possible.
  3. Extend your arms straight up towards your toes, palms facing each other.
  4. Engage your core by pulling your belly button towards your spine.

Execution

  1. Inhale deeply to prepare.
  2. As you exhale, lift your head, shoulders, and upper back off the ground, reaching your fingertips towards your toes.
  3. Keep your legs as straight as possible and try to touch your toes with your fingertips.
  4. Hold the position for a brief moment, squeezing your abdominal muscles.
  5. Inhale as you slowly lower your upper body back to the starting position.

Finishing

  1. Complete the desired number of repetitions.
  2. After your final repetition, gently lower your legs back to the ground.
  3. Relax your arms by your sides and take a few deep breaths to recover.
